I would like to commend the operators of the rides at the Delaware County Fair.  There were three in particular that were really great.  My 2 year old son and I spent most of the evenings at the fair together, in which he rode the children’s rides.  We didn’t have any experience with the other attractions since he is too small.  The operator of the Dino ride, Anthony, was superb with not just my son, but with all of the children.  I watched how he handled everyone, and he seemed like he genuinely enjoyed what he was doing.  With my son being so small, he made sure he unbuckled him first and made sure he enjoyed the ride.  He helped my son out of the car and brought him to me, and always gave me a smile.  There were two other operators that did the same thing, but unfortunately I didn’t get their names.  One was the operator of the motorcycle ride.  He was really good with the children and did a great job of taking care of them before and after the ride.  The other operator was the kangaroo ride.  The operator stopped the ride 2x and allowed me to come and get my son.  I found this very comforting that he kept a good eye on the children and stopped at the first sign of trouble.  I’m glad he was there to handle the situation.

I wanted this information passed on to the person in charge of these gentlemen.  This day and age, you always hear so many bad things that happen at the fair, and so many bad things about “carnies”.  I want them to know that they did a wonderful job and it made our trips to the fair much more enjoyable.  I hope they continue their success and that others will notice this as well.  All three gentlemen deserve a big pat on the back.

                                 Sincerely

                                 Kristina Jones

Thank you very much for buying my pen of three rabbits.  I am saving the money for college.  Most importantly, thank you for what each of you do to make our great fair possible.  It would be an honor to one day serve on the board & pay your hard work forward.  Thanks again for your support of our county’s youth.

Thank you for purchasing my 2009 Delaware County Fair Market Steer.  I have been in 4-H for 7 years now.  I work hard and enjoy raising and working with my 4-H projects to prepare them for the County Fair.  All funds I receive from the sale will be used towards purchasing another market steer to show next year.

I appreciate your support of the Delaware County Fair and the 4-H Program.

                                  Sincerely,

                                  Trent Fielding

Thank you so much for your donation to our auction at the Committee to Save Senior Services 11th annual wine tasting.  The “Scarlet & Gray Soiree” at Byxbe’s Restaurant was a huge success and we raised almost $17,000 through ticket sales, sponsorships and the live & silent auctions.  It was a fantastic evening featuring great food and wine, wonderful entertainment and lots of fun.

This yearly event is our only source of revenue for the Committee to Save Senior Services, which will fund future levy campaigns.  Eighty percent of our funding is provided by the Senior Services levy which in turn makes possible our local in-home and community based services and other opportunities.

The support of businesses and organizations like yours have built the Council for Older Adults and has enabled the creation of services that have allowed thousands of individuals to live at home with independence and dignity.  We truly appreciate your contribution in helping us make Delaware County a better place to grow older.

Again, thank you for your support!
